After talking with Patrick Bowles earlier in the week we are excited to pursue the opportunities available on LinkedIn! Patrick is a sales team leader with STG UKI and the administrator of their LinkedIn group. Patrick uses the LinkedIn profile to share marketing resources with a very broad spectrum of IBM contacts, clients and friends. Over the past eight months the page he created for STG UKI has amassed over 700 followers and he and his team have gained countless sales leads from this tool! It is through cases such as this that we can see the value of marketing on LinkedIn.
Before enrolling in the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina @ Wilmington, I really had no clue how to use LinkedIn and certainly had no clue what it was! I was always under the impression that LinkedIn was a useless website used to view professional profiles–it is much more than that! LinkedIn not only facilitates marketing efforts but it allows you to market the product that you know best–yourself. Your LinkedIn profile is a virtual resume. The things that you post (or fail to post) can and do affect your professional image. This growing service has transformed the way professionals connect.
LinkedIn has become wildly popular over the last few years. This website is no longer a dry directory of washed up professionals. LinkedIn has transformed itself into the most popular and visited professional social networking sites! This website is hugely popular with younger generations as we see businesses evolving and integrating social tools! LinkedIn can and will be a valuable resource for the STG WW Industry Marketing team! We hope to get this page up and running as quickly as possible and truly begin to see the benefits of social media within our team!
